Problem A sensor manufacturer whose client was having signal intermittency problems contacted Thermocouple Connector Source for assistance. The problems was felt to be associated with the "quick connect" (or "jab-in") connectors they were using at the time, as the left terminal screw tended to force the extension wire out of the connectors when it was turned down. Solution Thermocouple Connector Source supplied our "jab-in" connector, which is designed to direct the TC wire to the left hand side of both terminal screws. This design uses the clockwise threading of the screw to draw the wire into the terminal making a good connection.  Results The Thermocouple Connector Source jab-in connectors were used on all subsequent assemblies and no field problems have been reported. Our new client is happy and their client no longer has sensor problems at their plant. |
